Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently exfoliate your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer.
Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your skin’s collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion.
Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth.
Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, uneven skin tone, discoloration, and sun damage.
Microdermabrasion also aids in the following:Improving the look and amount of age spots and black heads.
Improving hyper-pigmentation (patches of darkened skin).Exfoliating the skin, resulting in a refreshed, glowing appearance.
Reducing fine lines and wrinkles.Reducing or eliminating enlarged pores.Treating acne and the scars left by acne.Building up collagen and elastin fibers.
To begin the microdermabrasion process, our Aesthetician will cleanse the face thoroughly with a specially formulated cleanser.
Once the skin is clean and dry, the microdermabrasion process will begin by passing a diamond tip wand over the skin through a handheld wand.
Microdermabrasion is done on the whole face to make sure that the skin has even texture and tone.
To conclude the microdermabrasion treatment, the Aesthetician will apply a soothing cream that also contains sunscreen, to ensure that the new layer of skin is protected from sun damage.
A microdermabrasion procedure can take no more than one hour in most cases. Patients can go back to work the same day that they get a microdermabrasion treatment.
Skin will temporarily be a pink color but will fully recover to its normal color within 24 hours. How many Microdermabrasion treatments are recommended?
At Solutions Laser Studio, we recommend that patients complete two to five microdermabrasion treatments, spaced out every 2-3 weeks.
